So I'm struggling to understand the mechanics of how this works as the game has changed a lot over the years but I've only recently started playing in the last few weeks.In most cases, the bonus stat range for a ship is strictly higher when you upgrade class. So I have an S class freighter with A class stats. I think hyperdrive range can be anywhere between 70 and 80, I don't know the range for fleet coordination or warp efficiency (though I think that's always 0.3).
