Then in mid-September 2022, my Fidium went offline (Fidium support actually contacted me about it, but I haven’t heard back since). This was caused by a tree branch interacting with the cable on the ground physically and kinking it (fiber breaks when kinked), since the fiber installation was not completed. It is still offline 2 months later.
I have my own router/firewall (WatchGuard T20) connected to the ONT via DHCP with no other Fidium boxes (ie their router). I get these weird disconnects randomly through the day where either there is no Internet or no DNS available. The fastest I've seen for WiFi speeds is around 800Mb, IF the device supports WiFi6. If it doesn't, 450Mb is good. Hardwired should give you around 950/950 because of overhead. the actual provisioned speed to your modem is 1.1Gig. They have congestion at certain times of the day.
