Followup on my last post. I installed the new HMI and radio module that updates to CarPlay but that didn't fix the "ghost touch" problem. I ordered a replacement touch screen/digitizer on eBay for about $30 took me about an hour to replace it following directions but having no prior experience with this type of rebuild.

To check for a short in your system, just unhook your positive post on your battery, hook a test light to the cable and the other end to the battery positive post. If it lights up you have a short. Pull one fuse at a time to locate the problem area. Hope this helps you.

I changed my battery this morning. The old one was toast. Put in a Deka 778DT. The swap was fine. Nothing abnormal about it. But when I went to drive the truck the radio didn't work. The screen doesn't come on. The buttons don't light up when I turn on the headlights. The buttons DO come on for 4-5 seconds when I hit the power button.

I had an issue with the current rig that in cold weather the drinker's side main speaker didn't work until it was warm (Above 40ish). Verified this in a cold truck and hit the speaker with a hair dryer, once warmed up speaker worked fine. I replaced the speaker and have been fine since.
