This is a major difference.The only pure Strength weapons in the game (by which I mean, weapons that get better scaling in STR from 26 to 50 than they do with SKL up to 25) are the Kirkhammer, the Amygdalan Arm, and the Whirligig Saw. Everything else, including the Hunter's Axe, is a quality-STR weapon, that benefits from getting both STR and SKL to the first softcap of 25 and then taking STR up to 50.
