A while back I cut open a converter from 1995 S10 which was the first year for the PWM (pulse width modulated) torque converter lockup. The clutch in the converter was for the most part gone at just over 150k miles. While the 6L80 seems to use a newer form of control, it is still slipping the clutch for a smooth feel.
