I currently carry a 1st generation LCP but would like something chambered for 9mm since the ammo is a bit cheaper and my full size is an SR9. The originals work fine for me. The only difference is the one that came with my LC9s is stamped Made in USA and has a matte finish. My original LC9 mags (and spares) are stamped Made in Italy and have a glossy lacquer type coating added, which I kinda like. Fully compatible though.

I'd prefer to carry a 9mm over a .380, though, especially in a similar size gun. Personally I'd go with an LC9s Pro because it has no safety, loaded chamber indicator (like the original LC9), or magazine disconnect.Otherwise, the Ruger LC9's good to stow. Provided you don't mind schlepping 17.1 ounces of handgun hither and yon. To put that in perspective, the Ruger LC9 weighs 2.5 ounces more than the Kel-Tec PF9.
