Imo for solo play, LBG is the "easiest" of the 3. Faster movement than HBG and Bow has to be relatively stationary. So it lets you just focus on dodging while shooting whenever you can. Bow and HBG get a lot more out of multiplayer since you can basically sit still and power shot or wyvernheart as much as you want.

Aquashot isn't just a sticky LBG - if anything, it's an elemental LBG. It's called aquashot for a reason. But it can use water, sticky and pierce 3 all extremely well depending on the awakenings and build. Boltshot is the best pierce and thunder LBG. Hellshot was until recently the great normal LBG. The Safi lbgs are extremely versatile.

Pierce element ammo is objectively worse outside specific speedrunning applications on certain (long) monsters. Its much harder to build for, it loses effectiveness on smaller/faster monsters (and even on larger/longer monsters it often enters crappier hitzones as it pierces), and iirc it only gets 2 shots instead of 3 from rapidfire so you're only getting 1.4x damage at best instead of the 2 ...
Basically the title. I dont see any big benefits for LBG, especially for elemental pierce builds. Dereliction / Dragon Conversion charms are likely better than AB / Spare Shot ones, freeing an armor piece from that. Especially Dereliction because Dragon Conversion can be augmented. There's sticky, normal, pierce, spread, and elemental. Check the sticky post for the meta sets. For LBG, I would suggest the sticky build, which has 2 variants (check sticky post). The one in the post is the slider build, which focuses on rapid fire, through reloading while sliding.
