You should be able to then toggle between using the iron sights or zooming in using the scope. Then use high velocity ammo which has the best range and accuracy. That's basically just as good as the sniper. And can take out any animal.
Exotics quests are easy if you collect ahead of time. Once you get a request, everything stops spawning, except maybe 1 of each item and you have to look thru hell and high water for it. Plumes, for example, I collect all thru chapters 2 & 3, when those damn egrets, herons, and spoonbills are everywhere. Orchids I collect as I hunt.
