The CS program is tough. I forget the statistics, but at least half of all students drop out or can't pass the CS exam. You only get 3 attempts I believe to pass, if you can't, they remove you from the program. Overall, you can go the IT/Cybersecurity route if you do end up failing. So you have a backup plan, which many degrees don't.

Again, not taking the FE or not passing it within 3 semesters permanently prevents one from getting a full CS degree at UCF, even if CS wasn't your major. They rarely make exceptions to this rule, because they tell everyone to take the FE after they pass CS1, even if CS isn't your major.
